About Us
St Basil Preschool is a non-profit outreach ministry of St. Basil Greek Orthodox Church serving children of all faiths two through five years of age.
A developmental program has been designed to meet the needs of the whole child. “Hands on” learning opportunities which promote social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and spiritual growth fill each day. Each classroom, brimming with age-appropriate activites, is created to challenge and stimulate growth in each child at his or her developmental level.
The “learning rich” environment is enhanced with with Christian values modeled by a teaching staff of early childhood professionals.
In addition to nurturing for the whole child, St. Basil Preschool provides a bridge of support to the entire family. The success of our program is dependent on our efforts to link home and school through clear communication.
St Basil Preschool offers full and half-day sessions, Monday through Friday. Schedules are available to accomodate working parents as well as “at home” parents in search of a part-time enrichment program.
The year ‘round program operates from 7:30am to 5:30pm with the exception of legal and seasonal holidays.
The teaching staff of qualified, experienced Early Childhood Professionals well exceed the State of California Educational and Experience Requirements for preschool instructors. The teacher to child ratio at St. Basil Preschool is continually lower than the State of California 1:12 minimum requirement.
Continual professional staff development is a priority. Remaining current on educational trends allows our staff to address curriculum and classroom design in a continuous effort to appeal to children at all learning levels.
