NAEYC Accreditation
WHY NAEYC ACCREDITATION? With learning there is growth. It is that simple! We have been blessed with a wonderful program, dynamic parents, kids and an excellent staff that works well together. We respect the individuality of each person involved in making this program what it is today. It would be very easy to sit back and let things run themselves. But by being still there is no growth, no challenge, no learning.
St. Basil Preschool is the only private, faith based center currently in Stockton to hold such a distinguished honor. Accreditation is “The Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval” in the child care industry. No higher honor is bestowed.
The process is extremely timely. Some programs have taken up to eighteen months to two years to complete.
There are ten vital components that must be studied before the final assessments are made:
- Relationships
- Curriculum
- Teaching
- Assessments
- Health & Safety
- Teaching Staff
- Families
- Communications
- Physical Environment
- Program Management
Our program was first granted accreditation in 2001.
St. Basil Preschool was one of 60 programs that recently pioneered through the new standards adopted in 2006. We were re accredited in 2007. N.A.E.Y.C. Accreditation is granted for five years with annual reports submitted by the school.
